This was my first trip to Cedar Falls with Forgiven Quartet, and let me tell you if you have never been to Praisefest, you need to go! It is a weeklong event, with Bible study in the mornings and Gospel singing in the evenings and on Friday and Saturday the singing starts at 10am and runs until about 10pm. We sang with several groups such as The Allen Family, Phil and Pam Morgan, Soul'd Out QT, FourTwelve, Spoken 4 QT, The Crist Family, Higher Power, The Gosplemen, Tribute QT, and The Perrys. We had a great time talking with a lot of our friends and also getting to make new friends. Speaking of Friends I have to give a shout out to my buddy Evan and the Venema Family, our great friends from Fulton Illinois (below is a picture of my and Evan at the Forgiven booth).
While we were in Cedar Falls we had some downtime to kill, so we did a few little projects on the bus that included installing some new step lights, a new brake light and other little odd jobs that needed to be done. We also had a little fun and took a tour of Hansens Dairy Farm (near Cedar Falls). We got to see the whole process from feeding the cattle, to milking, to bottling. They even make ice cream there! We also got to see the dairy's mascot, a New Zealand Wallaby, which if you don't know what that is, it's a miniature kangaroo. We were able to pet the baby calves (below I have a picture of a baby that was born the day before we toured the dairy).
More exciting news!!!! Our new project "Livin Forgiven" is now available. This project, in my opinion, is the best project that Forgiven Quartet has done (I am not just saying that because I am on it!).
An update to my last post…it is still HOT in Oklahoma, I heard a report on the Radio that Tulsa is the 4th hottest city following Oklahoma City OK, Lubbock TX, and Charlotte NC! It has been over 100 degrees almopst every day since the end of May with the heat index at or above 112 degrees many times! PLEASE pray that we get some rain and cooler weather soon!
God Bless!
